Hike > Angels’ Rest

by Rainbow Bobbins

DSCN8469On Saturday morning I headed to the Columbia Gorge for a short hike on the popular Angel’s Rest trail. This sweet little hike gives you 180-degree views of the Columbia River. On a nice day this trail will be packed. The trail is short and I’d call it easy (2.5 miles) but my heart was pumping on the inclines. I like lounging at the top and soaking in the expansive views of river and gorge — very peaceful. Just don’t get too close to the edge. Some serious drop-offs. There are areas of loose rock and shale so it is not great for those prone to twisted ankles. What a great way to start the day and only 25 minutes from downtown Portland.
